Hotels, motels of RTDC eligible for industry benefits
Jaipur: Tourism units run by corporations and government departments will also be eligible for the benefits of industry status accorded to the hospitality sector, as per a decision taken by the state government. Earlier, units run by the private sector were considered.
The major beneficiary of the latest decision will be hotels and motels run by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), which are in need of government support because of their below par financial performance.
The state government has also lowered the number of rooms of the hotels to make them eligible for the benefits. While it was 20 rooms or more earlier, it has now been lowered to 10.
